license agreement.

This agreement is between you and Fortify and governs your use of the Fortify mobile application. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. License grant

Fortify grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Fortify app on devices you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not redistribute, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works of the app except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this limitation.

2. Not a medical device or therapy

Fortify is a wellness and personal-growth companion. It is not a medical device, a healthcare service, or a substitute for professional mental-health treatment. The app does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

If you are in crisis, in danger, or experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, contact emergency services in your country (in the U.S., call or text 988) or a licensed professional. Do not rely on Fortify in place of professional care.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or older where required by your local jurisdiction. By using Fortify you confirm you meet that age threshold and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

4. Your account

You're responsible for the credentials you choose and the activity that occurs under your account. Don't share your password. Notify us at hello@fortify.app if you suspect unauthorized access; we'll rotate your sessions.

5. Your content

Anything you write inside Fortify — check-ins, journal entries, setback reflections, identity work, community posts, mentorship messages — remains yours. You grant Fortify a narrow license to store, transmit, and process that content solely to operate the service for you (e.g. computing your Resilience Score, delivering messages to your accountability buddy or mentor, surfacing safety alerts to moderators when our keyword scanner matches a high-risk phrase). 6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Fortify to:

• Harass, threaten, dox, or stalk other members.
• Post content that promotes self-harm, sells substances, or distributes illegal content.
• Impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are.
• Probe, scan, or otherwise attempt to circumvent the app's security or rate limits.
• Automate access in a way that creates unreasonable load on the service.

Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or account termination at our discretion. Three community reports auto-hide a post pending review; mentorship messages flagged by our keyword scanner go to moderator review.

7. Subscriptions

Fortify Pro is an auto-renewing subscription managed by Apple or Google. Pricing, billing, auto-renewal, cancellation, and refund terms are set out in detail at subscription terms; that page is incorporated into this agreement by reference.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, or via delete-account. Deletion removes your data immediately as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate this agreement; if we do, we'll explain why unless legally prevented.

9. Disclaimers

Fortify is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against unauthorized access. We make no claims about clinical effectiveness or fitness for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fortify's aggregate liability arising out of or related to your use of the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Fortify in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50. Fortify is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Some jurisdictions do not permit limitation of certain warranties or damages; in those jurisdictions, the limitations apply only to the maximum extent allowed.

11. Apple-specific terms

If you obtained the Fortify app from Apple's App Store, this agreement is between you and Fortify, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. You agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and have the right to enforce it against you.

12. Changes

We may update this agreement to reflect product, legal, or regulatory changes. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Fortify is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.
